Kasha Yang
Kasha Yang and ChinaMedic have been based in De Baarsjes Amsterdam West on the Postjesweg for more than 15 years. She started her practice in 2003 together with her husband Jian Zhang.
The name ChinaMedic and the characters in the logo refer both to Kasha’s roots in Chinese culture as to the traditional medicine she uses. In addition to being an acupuncturist and herbalist, Kasha is trained as anesthesiologist (China) and orthomolecular therapist.
She was introduced to the work field of healthcare from the day she was born as her father was a surgeon and orthopedist, and her sister a nurse. As a little girl, she was able to experience for herself how acupuncture helped her to get well as she suffered with long-term sinus infections. As of that moment she has been fascinated by the age-old knowledge and application of acupuncture and how its functioning makes a valuable contribution to the healing of the human body. She later went on to study medicine and acupuncture.
Although acupuncture has always played an important role in her life, it wasn’t until after her arrival in the Netherlands that it all fell into place for Kasha. She realized that acupuncture was and is her passion, and decided then and there to make acupuncture her life’s path and start ChinaMedic. During the last 10 to 15 years she has specialized as an acupuncturist in treating pain ailments with the unique “ChinaMedic Approach.”
At ChinaMedic she treats different kinds of pain related ailments, such as joint pain, nerve pain and muscle pain. Furthermore she treats as well fertility problems and tinnitus. The combined work experience as an anesthesiologist and acupuncturist, has convinced her that a balanced relationship between Western and Chinese medicine can only benefit the patient.
The ChinaMedic creed: “Let us take care of helping you resolve your suffering and pain. From now on you are no longer alone, because we stand by your side.”
Kasha’s patients have fondly been calling her ‘Miss Prikkie’ for years. And Kasha uses this nickname on Facebook and Twitter to inform people as much as possible about ChinaMedic and Chinese medicine.
Kasha Yang is a member of the Dutch Association for Acupuncture and the only one in the Netherlands of the China Association of Acupuncture and Moxibustion Abdominal Acupuncture Committee. She speaks fluent Dutch, English and Chinese.
Jian Zhang
Although Jian graduated as an economist at Zhe Jiang University, he has always had a great passion for Chinese medicine, food, herbs and plants.
Starting ChinaMedic with Kasha has only ensured that his interest and involvement grew anew, with the result that he has been training in herbal medicine and navel acupuncture in China. Subsequently, he chose to educate himself at the QingBai Academy in Amersfoort, NL. He is a licensed acupuncturist and a member of the Dutch Association for Acupuncture.
In addition over the course of 3 years in his own time, he studied and mastered the four most important core volumes of Chinese medicine. These books accurately describe the functioning of the human body, many diseases and their associated remedies, with which the knowledge has proven its value and efficacy over the centuries. For more than 2000 years it has been at the base of TCM for healing the Chinese people.
Because of his passion for plants and herbs together with his broad knowledge of applied herbal medicine, he is more than competent in putting together the right herbal formulas for the best possible result. On many occasion he has made a valuable contribution to Kasha’s knowledge and skills in helping patients with herbal therapy to get rid of pain or even relieving them in the long-term of all complaints.
Hai Jing Lan
With the start of 2019, Haijing Lan joined the Chinamedic Team as an acupuncturist. She studied the four-year acupuncture course at the Shenzhou TCM University in Amsterdam and graduated cum laude. She has received the “top excellent student” award twice.
Previously she graduated from the University of Groningen as a lawyer specializing in civil law. An as she had the option to continue her studies to get a Ph.D., she however didn’t really feel happy in doing so. When she came into contact with Chinese medicine, she a whole new way of living a peaceful and happy life opened up to her. Traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture have become her life and taught her to reconnect with herself and nature, as well as to respect and follow the course of nature. She feels it as her calling to help other people through the application of Traditional Chinese Medicine. As a certified acupuncturist, she is a member of the professional association Zhong.
Now that she has studied and practiced acupuncture for a number of years, she has been able to experience herself how acupuncture is more than just a treatment method; that it is also a guideline for a healthy and happy life. With heart and soul she is committed to her patients. And she believes that healing is only possible if therapists and patients work together.
On a daily basis she still feels immensely grateful for the change that TCM and acupuncture have brought her and is happy to help you with acupuncture to bring on a positive change in your health and life.
